My name is Chris Kirkpatrick (no, not the one from that boy band), born in the gritty industrial city of Houston, Texas, way way back in 1974. My first foray into music was a brief time in a punk band called Dysfunctional Gonads. We thought the name was ironic since we had a butch lesbian singer. The music was less Ramones/Sex Pistols- more GWAR/William Burroughs/Steven Jesse Bernstein. "Eclectic" and "erratic" were adjectives used to describe us but it was great songwriting practice back in 1994/1995!

Then came Reversible (1997-2001, 2018) in which I aimed at writing stuff more like the music I loved: Yo La Tengo, Pavement, Nothing Painted Blue, The Fastbacks, Guided by Voices...most of the Matador and Merge Records bands.

After a hiatus, I decided to start something NEW and a bit more focused on keyboard sounds so Pony Pharm began in 2022. I have some invaluable assistance from my husband, Wade Kirkpatrick...but it is a slow-going process. I just released two new songs you can stream them here; so I hope you check us out and like what you hear!!!
